Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Mark Stirdivant graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana and has served parishes in Connecticut, Missouri, and California. Christ Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Augustine, Florida called him in 2022. He has a wife, Krika, and a son, Turner.
History
Our Savior Lutheran Church began as a "church plant" funded by the FL-GA District of the LCMS and Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Jacksonville Beach. In addition, it provided services with sign language and spiritual outreach to the students of the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. Its first service was Jan. 9, 1994. Pastor Walter "Mike" Busby, a counselor at the school, served as part time and then fulltime pastor through March 1999. His departure marked the end of services to the deaf students.
The church called and installed Rev. Albert S. Oren Dec. 10, 2000. The church name became Christ Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church with new articles of incorporation. Pastor Oren retired in Oct 2020. Christ Our Savior called and installed Rev. Mark B. Stirdivant in May 2022.
